Carona Home Raided, Meth Lab Found

Just prior to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office raided a home, located at 2037 N.W. Chickadee Lane, in Northwest Cherokee County.

During the course of the search, officers discovered chemicals in various stages of the methamphetamine manufacturing process, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

In addition, three children, an 8 month old girl, a 2 year old boy, and a 3 year old boy, were all taken into police protective custody.  

Three suspects, including a Wanted Fugitive from the State of Missouri, were taken into custody.

Arrested at the scene were Roxanna Hale, 24, and Jason Hartman, 29, both of the home.  

Also arrested was Jerry A. McGuirk, 39, of Joplin, Missouri.  He is facing the same charges as Hale and Hartman, but was also arrested on outstanding arrest warrants from Baxter Springs and the State of Missouri.

Formal charges were filed Thursday morning in Cherokee County District Court.  All three defendants are being held in the Cherokee County Jail on $50,000.00 bond.

They have been charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Ephedrine with Intent to Manufacture Meth, Possession of Meth, 3 counts of Aggravated Child Endangerment, Felony and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.
