Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Launches New Website

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office launched a new Website on January 26, 2010 where residents can find the latest information regarding the operations of the Sheriff’s Office.  The new Website will serve as an information resource for the public as well as assist with community policing efforts.

The Website – www.cherokeecountykssheriff.com provides updated information on all aspects of the Sheriff’s Office.

“This new website provides us with yet another method to keep Cherokee County residents involved and aware of Sheriff’s Office activities and operations,” stated Sheriff David Groves.

“There are many exciting and useful features on the site.  Some, that I think will really be of interest to citizens, are the Most Wanted, Press Releases, Registered Offenders, Inmate Rosters and Frequently Asked Questions.  I strongly urge residents to register for email alerts so they will be immediately notified when new suspects are entered on our most wanted, when the inmate roster is updated and when new press releases are issued,” continued Groves.

In addition, users will be able to more easily access the Cherokee County Registered Offender site.  From there, they can register as many addresses as they would like for us to monitor.  This could be their children’s schools, parks, and other locations their children frequent.  Once they have registered the addresses, we will monitor them and notify them by email when a new offender moves into that particular area.

The new Website will also enable residents to submit anonymous crime tips by email.

“Posting this information on the Website improves our efficiency and provides greater transparency for the Sheriff’s Office while encouraging the public to take a more active role in community policing efforts. Our intent is for every Cherokee County resident to visit the site and become familiar with how to locate registered sex, drug, and violent offenders and learn how to submit a crime tip.  We believe the Web site is a huge benefit to the Sheriff’s Office and the residents of Cherokee County as well,” said Sheriff Groves.

The Website was developed by Brooks-Jeffrey Marketing, Inc. of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Brooks-Jeffrey specializes in the production of law enforcement and government Website solutions.

For more information about the Website, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 620-429-3992 or visit www.CherokeeCountyKSSheriff.com.
