Three in Custody Following Baxter Springs Raid

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Baxter Springs Police
Department and the Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant Tuesday morning in Baxter Springs, Kansas.

Just before 11:00 a.m., investigators served the warrant at 1014 Cleveland Street.

During the course of the search, officers found suspected methamphetamine and numerous paraphernalia items.

Jimmy Riddle, 39, of the home, was arrested and transported to the Cherokee County Jail.  He is being held in lieu of $25,000.00 bond on suspicion of Possessing Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. 

Gary R. Smith, 38, of Baxter Springs, was also arrested and transported to the Cherokee County on suspicion of Possessing Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia.  Smith remains in custody on $25,000.00 bond.

A third suspect, identified as 33 year-old David R. Tush, was arrested on an outstanding Felony Arrest Warrant out of Arkansas for narcotics related violations and Misdemeanor Arrest Warrants out of Galena, Kansas.  Bond on the Galena warrants is set at $2,235.00 cash and there is no bond on the Arkansas warrant.

Formal charges were filed Thursday, July 1, 2010.
