3 Arrested on Drug Charges

As the result of a joint operation between the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Baxter Springs Police Department and the Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force, a search warrant was executed at 631 East 10th Street in Baxter Springs, just after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

During the course of the search, investigators found suspected methamphetamine, some of which appeared to be packaged and ready for distribution.

The homeowner, 57 year old Dennis Bunce, was arrested at the scene.

Bunce is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of Distributing Methamphetamine, Possessing Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Using a Communication Device to Further a Drug Transaction, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

Bunce remains in custody in lieu of $21,000.00

Also arrested at the scene was 44 year old Robert Wayne Robinson, of rural Columbus. 

Robinson posted $5,000.00 bond after being arrested on allegations of Possessing Methamphetamine.

Prior to executing the search warrant, investigators located and arrested 42 year-old, Kimberly Lane of Baxter Springs, on a related arrest warrant for Using a Communication Device to Further a Drug Transaction.

Lane remains in the Cherokee County Jail on $20,000.00 bond.

Formal charges have been filed in Cherokee County District Court on Lane.

Formal charges are expected to be filed later today on Bunce and Robinson.
