Cherokee County Farmers, Ranchers and Landowners Should Be On Alert

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of several cattle gates this week.

Over the past four days, there have been six reports of stolen cattle / pasture gates, typically in the northern and western parts of Cherokee County.

Anyone who observes any suspicious people or vehicles in rural areas, are encouraged to contact the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office at 620-429-3992 or 620-848-3000.

In addition, anyone with information regarding these recent thefts are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at the above listed numbers or by submitting an anonymous online tip from our website, www.cherokeecountykssheriff.com.

It may also be a good idea for farmers, ranchers and landowners to somehow mark their gates, to assist in the proper identification of them.
