Jimmy Sluder Wanted For Escape From Custody

At 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 24th, 2012, Jimmy Dale Sluder, who is an inmate at the Cherokee County Jail, escaped from custody.

Sluder was on an inmate work detail, responsible for doing janitorial work at the jail.

He was taking out trash, under the supervision of a correctinoal officer when he fled on foot wearing a blue jail issued jumpsuit.

Sluder is described as 53 years old, White Male, 6’0, 192 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, white haired goatee, Date of Birth 4-8-1959.

Sluder has a tattoo of Native American Feathers on his right arm and also in the middle of his back.

Law enforcement officers immediately established a perimeter and began searching for Sluder, which includes the use of a Kansas Highway Patrol Helicopter.

Sluder has been incarcerated since April 2012 for failing to appear in court on a theft case and is from the Pittsburg, Kansas area.
