Columbus man sentenced to 7 years in prison for manufacturing methamphetamine

COLUMBUS – (July 2, 2012) – A Columbus man was sentenced today to 7 years in prison for manufacturing methamphetamine , Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Mathew J. Plummer, 28, Columbus, was sentenced to 84 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections. Plummer pleaded no contest on April 25 to the charge of manufacturing methamphetamine. Judge Oliver Kent Lynch handed down the sentence today in Cherokee County District Court.

Assistant Attorney General Steve Wilhoft of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case. The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Baxter Springs Police Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
