Stolen Property Recovered, Victims Asked to Help Identify Stolen Goods

10/26/2012

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has been working in cooperation with several agencies in Southwest Missouri and Northeast Oklahoma, regarding the recent daytime residential burglaries, which have been occurring throughout the region.

As a result, over the past week, several arrests have been made, and a large quantity of confirmed and suspected stolen property has been recovered.

In an effort to streamline the process of identifying the stolen property, recent burglary and theft victims are asked to go to the Jasper County Missouri Sheriff’s Office, 2907 CR 180, Joplin, Missouri on Tuesday, October 30th, 2012 from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m (phone number 417-624-1600).

Victims will be given the opportunity to examine recovered property and assist with identifying it.

Officers will be present to compare that property with the victims’ original theft reports to ensure the property is returned to the rightful owner.

These investigations are ongoing.  As a result, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing additional information at this time.  That information will be released when formal charges are filed in Kansas.
