Baxter Springs Man Charged with Drug Sales

Michael Sliger, 26, of Baxter Springs was arrested on Friday afternoon following a month long investigation conducted by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Baxter Springs Police Department and the Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force. Michael Sliger
A warrant for Sliger’s arrest was issued on Thursday, after Cherokee County Attorney Nathan Coleman’s Office charged him with Two Counts of Distribution of Controlled Substances (Morphine and Oxycodone), One Count of Distribution of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana.
In addition, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a search warrant was executed on Sliger’s home, located at 302 East 10th Street in Baxter Springs.
During the course of that search, investigators discovered additional suspected controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
Additional charges resulting from that search are expected.
Sliger is being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 bond.
