On Friday, January 31, 2014, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an unoccupied home southwest of Columbus, for a suspected burglary.
During the course of their investigation, law enforcement obtained a description of the suspects.
A short time later, two individuals matching the suspects' descriptions were located a few miles away. Deputies found those individuals to be in possession of the alleged stolen property, which included among other things, copper wiring, tractor parts, propane tank and tools.
Following field interviews, the two suspects, identified as 41 year-old Nicole Dickerson and 22 year-old Michael Campbell, both of Columbus, were arrested.
An 11th Judicial District Court Judge issued detention orders on Saturday, ordering Dickerson to be held in lieu of $10,000.00 bond on allegations of Residential Burglary and Felony Theft.
Bond for Campbell was set at $25,000.00 on allegations of Residential Burglary, Felony Theft, Felony Obstruction of Justice and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both suspects currently remain in the Cherokee County Jail and are considered innocent until proven guilty.
