Meth Charges Being Sought on Two Suspects

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday, March 28th, 2014, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a homeowner who saw two people walking from his property located southeast of Columbus.

Deputies located the subjects and determined one of them, identified as 35 year-old Travis Roberts of Cherokee, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from the City of Pittsburg.

In addition, Roberts and the other subject, identified as Sherry Redd, 39, of Pittsburg, were found to be in possession of multiple baggies containing suspected methamphetamine.

Both Roberts and Redd were taken into custody.

Their vehicle, which was located down the road, was secured a search warrant was obtained for it, where additional suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia was located.

As a result of this investigation $1300.00 in cash was also seized.

Both suspects are currently being held in the Cherokee County Jail.  Roberts is being held in lieu of $20,500.00 bond on allegations of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and for the outstanding warrant out of Pittsburg.

Redd is being held on allegations of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Her bond has been set at $12,000.00.
