Wininger Given Life Sentence with Hard 25

 

Edmond "Ed" Wininger, 55, of rural Galena, was formally sentenced on Monday after a Cherokee County Jury convicted him in March on one count of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a child under the age of 14 and one count of Indecent Liberties with a child 14 years of age.

The crimes occurred at Wininger's rural Galena home in late 2010 and early 2011.

Cherokee County District Court Judge O. Kent Lynch sentenced Wininger to 34 months imprisonment for the crime of Indecent Liberties with a Child and a life sentence without possibility of parole for 25 years for the crime of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child. The sentences are to run consecutively.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office investigated the case which was prosecuted by Cherokee County Attorney Nathan Coleman.
