Lomax and Myers Arrested Thursday

Authorities have located and arrested two suspects wanted following a Monday night shooting incident, which left 37 year old Erik Jones of West Mineral, dead.

Law Enforcement agencies across the region have been searching for 51 year-old Ronnie Lomax and 16 year-old Jasmine Myers, both of whom had warrants issued for their arrest earlier this week by the Cherokee County Attorney’s Office on allegations of Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Assault.

Just after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, Myers was apprehended in Girard by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

Lomax was arrested in Pittsburg just before 5:00 p.m.

Both suspects have been turned over to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

“We appreciate all those who provided tips over the past couple of days, which helped lead to these arrests.  We also thank our law enforcement partners in Pittsburg and Crawford County for the great work they did in apprehending both suspects today,” stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.
